Using the Moz Link Explorer tool is an excellent way to find out what websites are linking to you and how much authority your domain name and web pages have.

To check your backlinks and domain authority you simply put in the website or web page you would like to check and hit the analyze button. The tool will then show you the domain authority score and the web page score of the URL you put in. It will also show you a the websites that are linking to you including, the authority score of those sites so that you can tell which are your best incoming links.

The domain scores and web page scores are between 1 and 100. If your website has a lower score then it is less likely to rank high in the search engines. Please note, it is very difficult to get a high score on this tool and even if your website only has a score of 15-20 that can still be pretty good.

You may want to check out what score your main competitors have. Put in their URL and see what score they get. If they have a much higher domain authority score than you then you may need to work a little bit harder at marketing your site.

To get full use of this SEO tool, you will have to subscribe to Moz pro but, you can test it out for free by simply signing up for a Moz account. With the free account, you are allowed up to 10 link queries and 50 rows of data per query every month.

Helpful tip: You can get a much better idea of what sites are linking to you by checking the box that says limit the results to 1 link per domain. This way you don’t get the same domain name showing up over and over again.
