I am seeing this penalty more and more. I just wish Google would help a little more by saying what is causing them to do this.

It's very common to be "filter", you'll have PR, you'll continue to be cached as normal but you'll only rank for your domain name or company name. Anything else and you'll be filtered out of the rankings.

This is normally going to be down to hidden text or alt text spam. Get the site cleaned up and send over a reconsideration request and you'll be back in the rankings.

I've seen about 10 of these "filters" happen, normally you can get out of them in a month or so providing you can find out what you have done wrong.

Hi, it is best to be as honest as possible with them when you send a reinstatement request. You should tell them everything that you have done wrong and not play the babe in the woods routine. Then you should reassure them of your good faith and promise that you will never do it again.
