I lost a site for about a month and took me much hairloss, coffee, pro plus and cigs to get it fixed - all because I forgot to delete an idex.html file which pointed to files that didnt exist - I learned some .htaccess hacks pretty damn fast</description>

		<description>Index page, subdomain (www and non-www), and domain canonicalisation is a very important process that very many sites fail to implement.

Without it there can be all sort of indexing havoc.  It is best to fix these issues before you notice a problem in the SERPs.</description>
